 Genetically modified organisms, are organisms whose genetic material has been altered through genetic engineering techniques. This technology allows scientists to introduce specific traits into plants, animals, or microorganisms.This involves the manipulation of an organism's DNA to introduce or remove specific traits.


When it comes to the health aspects of GMOs, extensive research has been conducted to evaluate their safety. The consensus among scientific organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Academy of Sciences, is that GMOs are safe to eat and do not pose any greater risk to human health than conventionally bred crops. GMOs have been widely studied for their potential effects on human health, including allergenicity, toxicity, and nutritional composition. Regulatory agencies around the world, such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States, have strict guidelines in place to ensure the safety of GMOs before they are approved for commercial use.
